bio
Miranda Morales Rosales. Animator and visual artist from Mexico City/Estado de Mexico. Experimental Animation MFA candidate at California Institute of the Arts through the sponsorship of Fulbright Garcia Robles COMEXUS and CalArts.
Illustrator and designer by the Faculty of Arts and Design UNAM. Participated in academic exchange with UCSD Visual Arts. Studied a Visual Narrative Diplomaet "Casa Ilustración Narrativa Visual" UNAM.
Author at Rookie Magazine for 3 years, has collaborated in diverse independent publications since then such as Invisible Wall Zine by Dolor Local x Desert Island, Noisy Kids Zine, Marvin Magazine, Chidas MX, among others.
Has exhibited work in places such as Centro de Cultura Digital, ANIMASIVO, NRMAL Baja, Mashimon, Weird Hues, among others.
Recently published “Ambrita”, a risograph zine about neurodivergence and borders with editorial Beibicreisi, an independent female + gender dissident editorial from Mexico City.
Has worked with clients such as Reebok, Pizza Hut x Takis Catrina, mexican bands Mint Field and Los Blenders to name a few.
Contributed to artwork sales for the benefit of non-profit-organizations such as the Rookie Mag Art Sale for Movement Voter Project, additionally, organized in collaboration with other artists a print and publication sale in which 100% of the profits went to Manada Periferia, Vivas nos Queremos Neza, etc.
Currently works as Experimental Animation Graduate Assistant and Lab Monitor for CalArts while developing her First Year Short Film.
